Be aware of traffic changes during construction

Photo: Looking east from Walnut St. and New Jersey St. Walnut St. is currently one way eastbound from New Jersey St. to Park Ave.

• On or after April  29th, Mass Ave/Bellefontaine St. from College  Ave. to 10th St. will be restricted to one-way northbound.  (This is a change from the original plan announced April 14, stating that traffic would move one-way southbound.)
  
  This restriction will be in place until late summer of  2010.
  
  Parking will be available on the north side of Massachusetts from College Ave. to Bellefontaine St.
   
• During the initial phase of this restriction, left turns to westbound 10th St. will be prohibited.  Motorists will only be able to turn eastbound off of Bellefontaine St.  There will also be restrictions on 10th St. during this time period but traffic will be maintained east and westbound.
   
• On or after April  29th, the alley between Mass Ave and College Ave. (behind the Scholars Inn) will be closed to traffic.  This closure will be in effect for approximately three months.

Additional traffic restrictions will be needed in the weeks and months to come. We will keep you updated throughout the construction  process.

Starting this First Friday: Enjoy Kids' Night Out

A great way to support the Cultural Trail is to support the local businesses particularly impacted by its construction. Enjoy Mass Ave's popular First Friday gallery walk and merchant specials this Friday, May 1.

Now you can enjoy First Friday on Mass Ave while the YMCA at the Athenaeum entertains the kids! Activities include crafts, sports, games, and best of all DINNER! Drop the kids off while you enjoy First Fridays. Program starts May 1st, and will be offered every First Friday, from 5-10pm.
