Project team returning to area for public open houses
The project team will return to Marshall and St. Joseph counties May 19 and 20 to present Stage 1 design plans and answer questions from residents. Meeting times and locations are:

The focus of the open houses will vary by location. The focus of the open house in South Bend on May 19 is the project’s impact from Roosevelt Road north to US 20. The open house on May 20 in Lakeville will focus on the area south of Roosevelt Road to US 30. However, the team will have renderings available and answer questions about the entire corridor at both open houses.
Preliminary design exhibits will be available for residents to review. They include whether the cross streets will go under, over or stop at the freeway; drainage design; bridge structures and interchange design.

Wetland information available on the Web site
Information about wetland mitigation (replacement) is now available at www.us31plysb.com. Included are a map of wetlands in northern Indiana and information about 334 acres of land purchased by the Indiana Department of Transportation to replace wetlands in the Kankakee watershed.
Land Acquisition Update
Land acquisition is progressing for property owners near Plymouth-Goshen Trail, Lilac Road, and between Pierce Road and US 6, in preparation for contracts that will be awarded in fiscal year 2009.
Property owners should expect to be contacted approximately 18 months prior to the construction of the corridor near their home. To view the schedule and map, visit www.us31plysb.com.
