Governor Mitch Daniels' Major Moves highway program will invest more than $1 billion to upgrade US 31 between Indianapolis and South Bend, with new construction in Marshall, St. Joseph, Howard and Hamilton counties. Gov. Mitch Daniels and Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) officials will join local officials for a groundbreaking on the New US 31 in St. Joseph County.
This is the first construction project for the $418.4 million New US 31 Plymouth to South Bend project, which is part of Gov. Daniels’ Major Moves highway program. Construction on the entire corridor is expected to be complete in 2015.
