More than 700 attend open houses in MayThe project team returned to the area on May 19 and 20 to present Stage 1 design plans, and more than 700 residents came to review the updated maps and ask questions. At the open houses, a brief overview was given and residents visited one-on-one with team members. Exhibits showing preliminary design elements were available for review. Those exhibits showed whether the cross streets will go under, over or stop at the freeway; drainage design; bridge structures and interchange design. One of the most anxiously anticipated announcements was the design of the interchanges at 7th Road, US 6, SR 4, Kern Road and US 20. All maps presented at the open houses, along with 7th Road, US 6, SR 4, Kern Road and US 20 interchanges, can be found on the project Web site. Click here to view.
