Cultural Trail Hosts National Recreation and Park Association Workshop
The 2007 National Recreation and Park Association Congress and Exposition will bring nearly 10,000 parks and recreation professionals and advocates from around the country to Indianapolis from September 22 - 29.
The Indianapolis Cultural Trail team will host 45 participants in a discussion about the project and lead an abbreviated tour of the trail route.
"This is a great opportunity to showcase this unique project among national parks and recreation leaders from around the country," said Lori Miser, administrator and Cultural Trail lead for the City of Indianapolis' Department of Public Works.
Public Art Update: New Works to be Considered
The Cultural Trail public art installation intended for the corner of Mass Ave., Alabama and Vermont streets is now being reconsidered. The piece by Emily Kennerk, titled “Play,” was proposed but not commissioned due to contractual issues. The Cultural Trail Curatorial Advisory Committee is in the process of considering other artists’ works for that location.
